The Adaptive Transformation Process

A healing journey for anyone who has experienced tragedy or trauma in their life that has left them with:

  • Feelings of deep disappointment, profound loss, or betrayal
  • A sense of not knowing who they are anymore
  • A need to rediscover meaning and purpose in life
  • A desire and readiness to move forward with dignity and grace

What Does The Process Involve?

Feelings of deep disappointment, profound loss, or betrayal are softened

Most major life changes involve some form of grief. Something we were accustomed to and perhaps comfortable with is no longer. We must acknowledge that loss and what it means for us in order to heal. That often takes time. But there are also things we can do to bring more emotional balance into our daily lives by being open to and allowing moments of goodness, joy and love to touch and heal us as they occur. The Adaptive Transformation Process is designed to encourage and support healthy grief and emotional balance.

A renewed, stronger sense of self replaces “I don’t know who I am anymore”

A traumatic event can often leave us disoriented about our identity. Tragedies and experiences of profound grief do change us. But they also offer the opportunity to re-evaluate the things that are really important to us and how we want to live going forward. Through the Adaptive Transformation Process we identify our key character strengths and identify anew our deepest values. We see afresh who are and how we might live successfully in our new reality.

A new sense of meaning and purpose in life emerges

Besides a loss of identity, when we lose someone, or something, that is strongly tied to our sense of purpose we can wonder “What will I do with the rest of my life?” The Adaptive Transformation Process is designed to raise the questions and provide new tools to engage your inner/spiritual resources toward discovering a new meaning, direction, and purpose that inspires you….and may inspire others as well.

Courageous steps are taken in moving forward with grace and dignity

Attempts to move forward after a major loss frequently are accompanied by feelings of guilt or shame. Perhaps we are afraid that in moving forward we are being disloyal to our love for a departed loved one, leaving them behind. If we have suffered a profound disappointment or humiliation, anger or shame may keep us from investing in life. There will come a moment, different for each of us, when we hear life beckoning us to come back, to engage in life again. Resisting it can cause us to become stuck in the grief process to our own and to others’ detriment. The Adaptive Transformation Process is designed to help and encourage the dual purposes of honoring our loves and our losses while creating a livable life for ourselves.
